There were great songs that touched us as we were growing up by
artists like the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Pink Floyd Jethro
Tull and the Moody Blues that you just never hear anymore These songs
need to be heard .... so I play them . Aaron
Plays Tull Part2
The first thing that people notice about Sean is his voice.
Much of Rowe's musical influence comes from soul and street beat
sounds. This influence flows through the percussive acoustic guitar
technique he has developed over years of playing solo in bars. The
heel of his palm makes an ever-present thump driving the song while
the leftover fingers pluck through often wildly detuned guitar strings.
Hypnotic chord patterns support Rowe's agile melodies maintaining
a constant framework while the lyrics and vocal lines dictate the
dynamics of the song. His lyrics are observation and passionate;
a perfect marriage of spiritual questioning and world weary pondering.
The Tequila Mockingbirds, George Fletcher and Pete Pashoukos,
describe their music as "High Falutin'," which is their way of saying "Music
with no Borders."
According to Fletcher, with a repertoire
consisting of strictly selected covers and original material from the
genres of jazz, blues,
country,
bluegrass, rock and gypsy jazz, "No genre is safe around us," he
said with a laugh.
They take pride in their unique set list. He says he and Pashoukos
mix unusual arrangements of familiar songs with material uncommon
among other acoustic duos.
